No-Cost Small Business Advisor

Shawn Palmer – OneRedmond

Redmond businesses have access to a small business advisor who provides no-cost, one-on-one, confidential advising to help entrepreneurs and small business owners start, grow or buy/sell their businesses.

As our East King County Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Advisor, Shawn Palmer provides no-cost, one-on-one, confidential advising to help entrepreneurs and small business owners start, grow or buy/sell their businesses.

A decorated Navy Veteran accredited small business consultant and professional mentor; Palmer will share his expertise with the East King County business community based on his 21 years of entrepreneurial experience. Palmer also served as a parent volunteer in the Lake Washington School District. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Central Washington University with his BS in Business Administration, and from WGU with his Masters in Management and Leadership. His role will help East King County small businesses solve the challenges of recovery from the pandemic and building resilience going forward.

Entrepreneur Workshop Series

OneEastside Foundation provides the Entrepreneur Roadmap workshop series for entrepreneurs and small business owners throughout the year at various locations across the eastside. These programs have been in-person and virtual and cover topics such business plans, marketing, setting up your business, pricing strategies, compay culture and so much more. OneEastside SPARK

OneEastside SPARK coordinates regional partners to maximize resources and focus on small business and nonprofit recovery and resiliency. This program provides responsive programing and tools to address key areas of need amongst organizations in East King County as they evolve.

Through support of various grants, OneEastside SPARK has been able to successfully work hand-in-hand with our community based organizations to bring in-language, and culturally appropriate programming to their communities.  Topics have included areas like marketing and getting your business online, to accessing financial resources.

Eastside-Made Initiative

OneEastside SPARK’s Eastside-Made Initiative is focused on building more inclusive support for makers and creative entrepreneurs across Washington State who often face barriers to accessing support with the education, insight, and resources they need to thrive. Training and Resources

Startup425 is a collaborative effort amongst the cities of Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, Renton, Issaquah, and Bothell to expand entrepreneurship opportunities across Eastside communities. Find free market research tools and tips in this list of library and community resources curated by a KCLS librarian. These resources are for both startup businesses and businesses looking to grow. Startup Washington

The State of Washington has a wealth of resources and tools to help small business and entrepreneurs thrive. Their Startup 365, Washington’s Small Business Training & Education Center, is all about giving entrepreneurs and business owners a competitive advantage.
