Washington State is the global leader for satellite manufacturing as more satellites are made in Redmond, Washington than anywhere else in the world. We often hear the “road to Mars leads through Redmond,” from Redmond’s Aerojet Rocketdyne, a company who has propulsion systems installed on every satellite system launched by the United States. Redmond’s robust and growing commercial space sector also includes Honeywell Aerospace (sensors), RBC Signals (space communications), and our newest additions SpaceX (Starlink broadband satellites), Amazon Project Kuiper (satellite network to provide global high-speed internet), and Kymeta (flat panel antenna and hybrid cellular-satellite data service).
